#2: My Appreciation

Website launched. Donations given. It’s official now. Robin Good is a real ministry. But it would not be possible without the help God provided through my husband, my pastor, and my church.

My Husband

It was really Shawn’s idea. My weekly thrift store spending may have had something to do with it, but involving others was his suggestion. The name was his brainchild, too. He’s ingenious like that. He even helped me find a website builder and has encouraged me all along the way. Mostly, though, I am thankful for him supporting me buying all the things I take with us each week, because he knows how much it blesses the recipients. God has graced me with an amazing partner to live out the Gospel with. I could not be more grateful for him in my life. I love you, Shawn Deal.

My Pastor

I greatly respect my pastor. He not only teaches the Gospel each Sunday and serves the congregation throughout the week, he cares about the needs of the less fortunate. He joined us one January Saturday morning and saw for himself what we do each week. He even met some of the friends we’ve made. That’s when we told him about the Robin Good idea, and he has graciously supported it since. He let me share about it with our church last week. Then, he shared about it again today and even offered his pickup truck to haul donations, if needed. You rock, Pastor Tim. Thank you for your leadership.

My Church

A church needn’t be big to have a big heart. I brought 15 fliers last Sunday when I introduced Robin Good to my church. I came home with only three, and many people who did not take fliers approached me about it, as well. I received texts and emails about it the following week, and three people brought donations for me to church today. And this before the website had been published! I am humbled by and grateful for the the support of my East Cobb Presbyterian Church family. Thank you for caring and for your generosity.

Other Thanks

My Son

I have my talents, but designing logos isn’t one of them. Thankfully, my son’s suggestions helped bring it life and clarity. Thank you, Daniel! I love you!

My Daughter

Okay, so she didn’t have much to do with this ministry, but she did take the picture of me at Goodwill posted on the Get Involved: How You Can Help page. And she has been my thrift store buddy for years. I love you, Riah!

The Atlanta Dream Center Church

We are blessed to be part of the work the Atlanta Dream Center Church does for those facing homelessness and poverty in Atlanta. It has truly changed our lives. We love you Atlanta Dream Center Church friends and are thankful for the fellowship we share as we serve together.
